Cinnamon Baked Apples

The simple way for turning apples into delicious Autumn snacks.

Fall is the time when we crave comfort foods, so having an apple may not be enough. If you want to snack on something sweet and autumny, baking apples is the way to go. You only need 3 ingredients!

Ingredients:
- 3 small or 2 medium-sized apples
- 1 or 2 teaspoons of sugar (or brown sugar)
- 1 or 2 teaspoons of cinnamon

One teaspoon of sugar and cinnamon should be enough if you're looking for a healthy snack, but if you badly crave sugar, add another teaspoon by all means!

Instructions:
Halve each apple, remove cores, seeds
(you can use teaspoon or pumpkin-carving spoon), and place the halves on a baking parchment/oven tray on the middle shelf of the oven.

Sprinkle apples with sugar and cinnamon.

Bake them at 200°C (392°F) for around 40 minutes (or 30 minutes if you decide to pre-heat the oven). Check on them halfway through. Pierce their flesh with a fork or a toothpick (thoroughly baked apples should be soft and mushy).
It can get messy when apples start to release their delicious, sweet juices, so I really recommend using baking parchment, tin foil, or both!
When ready, remove apples from the oven, leave them to stand for 2-5 minutes, and serve.

You can use a spoon and eat only the mushy, sweet flesh, or eat whole chunks using fork (or hands when apples become cool enough to touch them).

Bon Appetit!
